ANALISIS FIZIKAL & KANDUNGAN KIMIA TEMBIKAR TANAH DI GUA KAMBING, BALING, KEDAH ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL CONTENT ON POTTERY AT KAMBING CAVE, BALING, KEDAH

Abstract


Abstrak 

Tembikar tanah merupakan antara artifak yang biasa dijumpai sewaktu kerja ekskavasi arkeologi sama ada prasejarah atau protosejarah. Tembikar tanah merupakan antara peralatan yang digunakan oleh masyarakat prasejarah sebagai alatan kegunaan dalam kehidupan seharian. Kajian secara ekskavasi arkeologi di Gua Kambing di Gunung Pulai, Baling, Kedah juga telah menemui beberapa pecahan tembikar. Tembikar tanah yang dijumpai di tapak arkeologi perlu diketahui sama ada ia dibuat oleh masyarakat setempat atau dibawa dari luar. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini menggunakan dua kaedah iaitu anlisis secara fizikal dan juga penentuan kandungan kimia melalui kaedah Sinar-X terbelau (X-Ray Diffraction, XRD) dan juga Sinar-X Pendarkilau (X-Ray Flourescence, XRF) untuk mendapatkan kandungan mineral dan juga unsur utama serta unsur surih.

Abstract 

Earthenware is one of the artifacts commonly found during archaeological excavations, whether prehistoric or protohistoric. Earthenware is one of the tools used by prehistoric people as tools for daily life. An archaeological excavation study at Gua Kambing in Gunung Pulai, Baling, Kedah has also found some pottery fragments. Earthenware found at archaeological sites needs to be known whether it was made by the local community or brought from outside. Therefore, this study uses two methods, which are physical analysis and also the determination of chemical content uses X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-Ray Flourescence (XRF) methods to obtain mineral content as well as major and trace elements.
