Abstrak 

Pujangga sufi Melayu terulung, Shaykh Hamzah Fansuri bukanlah nama asing dalam kesusasteraan Melayu khususnya dalam bidang tasawuf dan syair Melayu. Kehebatan, kemasyhuran, dan pengaruhnya sangat diakui oleh masyarakat Melayu sehingga ke hari ini dan hal ini telah menarik perhatian para pengkaji untuk meneliti apakah yang mengangkat ketokohannya sedemikian rupa. Secara umumnya, dua sudut pandang terpenting yang dikenalpasti menjadi faktor terbesar akan hal ini ialah keindahan penyampaian dan keindahan isi kandungannya. Perkara yang mengujakan para sarjana yang meneliti Hamzah Fansuri dalam penyampaiannya ialah bagaimana peluahan rasa yang begitu indah dan istimewa sehingga meresap ke dalam diri pembaca. Demikian juga isi kandungannya bukan suatu yang dapat ditandingi oleh mana-mana karya dalam bahasa Melayu akan ketinggian dan kedalaman maknanya. Dengan memindahkan kekayaan pengetahuan dan kebudayaan Arab dan Parsi ke Alam Melayu, Hamzah Fansuri dengan garapan yang tersendiri membawa suatu fenomena besar dalam penggubahan syair dan perkembangan tasawuf di Alam Melayu.

Abstract 

Hamzah Fansuri, is widely known as the greatest Malay Sufi literati particularly in the field of Sufism and Malay poetry. His magnificence, prominence, and influence is well perceived by the Malays to date and triggered scholarly studies to examine the reasons behind such outstanding excellence. Generally, two main factors that had been identified are the esthetic of his expression and content. His expressive sense with great eloquence excites all researchers. His content with intense and profound meaning is unsurpassed. Hamzah Fansuri transfers Arabic and Persian wisdoms and cultures in his own way towards phonomenal transformation of poetry and Sufism in the Malay World.
