Dengan menggunakan kaedah etnografi melalui penyertaan ikut serta, satu kajian telah dijalankan untuk melihat hubungan antara corak adaptasi masyarakat Temiar dengan budaya material mereka. Data kajian ini diperolehi melalui kerja lapangan yang dijalankan dari 10.11.2014 hingga 27.11.2014 dan 29.09.2014 hingga 03.10.2014 di beberapa penempatan Temiar di Pos Kuala Mu, Kampung Gapeh Hulu, Kampung Gapeh Hilir, Kampung Bersah dan Kampung Toh yang terletak di daerah Sungai Siput Perak. Tumpuan perbincangan adalah berdasarkan kepada lima klasifikasi utama budaya material iaitu alat pengeluaran, alat domestik, alat ritual, alat muzik dan alat perhiasan diri dengan membincangkan sejauhmana peralatan budaya material mempengaruhi sosio budaya masyarakat yang dikaji.

Abstract

Using the ethnographic method through the participation of a study was conducted to see the relationship between the adaptation patterns of the Temiar society with their material culture. The data of this study were obtained through field work carried out from 10.11.2014 to 27.11.2014 and 29.09.2014 until 03.10.2014 at several Temiar settlements at Pos Kuala Mu, Kampung Gapeh Hulu, Kampung Gapeh Hilir, Kampung Bersah and Kampung Toh located in Sungai Siput Perak area. The focus of discussion is based on the five main classifications of material culture namely production equipment, domestic tools, ritual tools, musical instruments and personal jewelry tools by discussing the extent to which cultural material equipment affects the socio-cultural community being studied.
