ARTIFAK MUZIUM SEBAGAI CERMIN KEPADA WORLD-VIEW MELAYU: KAJIAN DI MUZIUM ABU BAKAR PEKAN PAHANG (MUSEUM ARTIFACTS AS A MIRROR TO THE MALAY WORLD-VIEW: STUDY AT ABU BAKAR MUSEUM, PAHANG TOWN)

Abstract


Abstrak 

Terdapat aksiom yang mengatakan artifak muzium adalah gambaran falsafah kehidupan yang dipegang oleh sesuatu masyarakat. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah analisis perpustakaan dan temu bual yang mengkaji tiga galeri di Muzium Abu Bakar Pekan Pahang iaitu Galeri Islam di Pahang, Galeri Kesultanan Melayu Pahang - Daulat Tuanku dan Galeri Kehambaan. Hasil penelitian ini mendapati tiga perkara utama. Pertama, kesemua galeri menggunakan falsafah pasca kolonial dalam pembinaan asasnya. Kedua, pemilihan artifak galeri menggunakan falsafah Islam iaitu Tauhid, Wasatiyyah, budaya ilmu dan Rationalistik. Ketiga, Galeri kesultanan Melayu Pahang dan galeri kehambaan mencerminkan sifat dominasi intelektual Islam dalam masyarakat Melayu. Kesemuanya menonjolkan elemen tempatan (Islamicate) yang cukup tinggi.

Abstract 

There is an axiom that says museum artifacts reflect the philosophy of life held by a society. This study uses the method of library analysis and interviews that examines three galleries at the Abu Bakar Museum in Pahang, namely the Islamic Gallery in Pahang, the Pahang Malay Sultanate Gallery - Daulat Tuanku and the Slavery Gallery. As a result, we found three main points. First, all galleries use post-colonial philosophy in their basic construction. Second, the selection of artefacts in the gallery uses Islamic philosophy, namely Tauhid, Wasatiyyah, culture of knowledge and Rationalism. Third, the Pahang Malay sultanate gallery and the slavery gallery reflect the intellectual dominance of Islam in Malay society. All of them highlight local (Islamicate) elements that are quite high.
