The concept of sustainable development emphasizes the balance between economic, social and environmental aspects in daily life and country’s development. Education and awareness regarding sustainability, nurtured at the early stage (early childhood) can be a driving factor towards the practice of environmentally friendly lifestyle in the future. Students at the primary school level need to be aware of and understand issues regarding the environment, such as, pollution and destruction of nature that occurs in relation to rapid development. Therefore, the goals of education system should not simply be to learn for the sake of succeed in examination, but also need to emphasize measures to increase awareness of sustainable development. Thus, the next generation is expected to support, preserve and continue the development of the country in line with sustainable development.
